Life can get busy – it is so easy to get distracted by work, family, social obligations, social media, Netflix, taking care of our bodies etc. and not spend time unleashing our inner creative. Some of us can go days, weeks, months, or even years without taking time to enjoy some creative activities. If that sounds like you, then this blog post is for you! 5 Ways To Add More Creativity To Your Life
1. Schedule time to be creative.
If you are struggling to find time to sit down and be creative, be proactive and schedule time in your day when you can enjoy being creative. Add creativity activities to your morning or evening routine. If you don’t use a routine just pre-plan a time when you can put your phone away and unleash your inner creative. Try to block out an hour or two for your creative time. Pro tip: if you are really busy and you plan to enjoy an hour creative time, but when the time comes you realize you haven’t finished your work, or done the dishes, I just want to encourage you to drop what you are doing and commit to enjoying your creative time. You can finish what you have to finish later, you deserve this time to unwind and express yourself.
2. Learn a new skill
It is hard to add more creativity in your life if you don’t have a creative outlet that you like to enjoy. If you find that you aren’t being as creative as you would like to be, maybe it is time for you to learn a new skill. Taking a class, or online workshop to learn how to do something new is a great way to add more creativity in your life. Learn how to arrange flowers, brush up on your photography skills, dive into watercolours, learn to play an instrument or whatever creative activity that calls to you. 3. Colour
I know that this might seem childish, but colouring is one of the most therapeutic and easiest creative activities that you can do. Pick up some crayons, markers, paper or adult colouring books and make some magic happen.

If you feel like your whole lifestyle could really use some more creativity then I recommend you try to be in the present. Embrace each moment and start to truly live for today. Leave the past in the past and leave the future in the future. Focus on how you can add even a little bit more creativity into your life today.
5. Stop thinking, start doing
If you really want to add more creativity into your life, then you need to stop thinking about it and wanting it and start actually doing it. Stop making excuses as to why you can’t add more creativity to your life and start living more creativity. Let’s play a little visualization game. If I came up to you and told you that I would pay you $200 every day and all you had to do was enjoy a creative activity for an hour, what would you do? What activity(ies) would you choose to pursue? How would you work it into your schedule? How do you feel knowing that you get to add more creativity into your life?
Whatever thoughts came to your mind during that activity, start doing them babe.
