This week is the autumnal equinox aka the beginning of fall, in the northern hemisphere, the perfect time for a fall cleanse. I am so excited, fall is one of my favourite seasons. I really see fall as such a joyous time of year. The bright red and yellow leaves, orange pumpkins, cozy sweaters, and holidays i.e. Thanksgiving and Halloween, make me so happy.
In some ways, fall has always sort of seemed like the beginning of a new year to me.
The long afternoons tanning in the summer sun are replaced with putting on oversized sweaters and drinking chai lattes.
Summer slowly turns into a memory and we are gifted with another new beginning filled with everything pumpkin spice. What a magical time babes!

Step 1: Set Your Intention
Before starting your fall cleanse, it’s important to set your intention.
Determine what you want to achieve through this cleanse. Are you looking to increase your energy levels, boost your digestion, or simply reset your overall well-being? How do you want to feel at the end of the cleanse?
Also, set an intention for how long you want to commit to the cleanse.
Setting a clear intention will help you stay focused throughout the process. I recommend writing your intention down.
Step 2: Cleanse Your Diet
During the fall cleanse, it’s essential to focus on cleaning up your diet. Give your body a chance to reset after all the summer sangria.
Opt for whole, nutrient-rich foods that will nourish your body. Incorporate plenty of seasonal fruits and vegetables such as apples, pears, butternut squash, and kale.
Avoid processed foods, sugar, caffeine, and alcohol as much as possible.
Step 3: Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!
Hydration is key during any cleanse. Make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day to flush out toxins and keep your body hydrated.

Notice any changes you’ve experienced physically, mentally, and emotionally over the last 9 months.
Just as the leaves fall to the ground, this is the perfect time to focus on letting go of anything that is no longer serving you and that is not helping you to live a life you love.
It might be past events that you are holding on to, fears, past relationships, habits etc.
Take time everyday of your cleanse to journal. Journaling is a great way for us to understand what we are feeling, and process our thoughts, goals and emotions.
Every day answer these three questions in your journal:
- What am I grateful for today?
- How am I feeling today?
- What do I need to let go of from my past, so that I can move forward in a positive direction?
Once you find what you need and want to let go of, write it on a piece of paper and rip it up or burn it, as a sign of letting it go.
You can also consider how you can incorporate some of the healthy habits you developed during the cleanse into your daily life moving forward.
Remember, a fall cleanse is not a quick fix but rather a holistic approach to resetting your body and mind.
Take it at your own pace, listen to your body, and make adjustments as needed.
Embrace this opportunity to nourish yourself from the inside out.
