This is where you will find the quiet and secluded oasis of <strong><u><a href="https://aquariustraveller.com/booloumba-creek-camping/">Booloumba Creek</a></u></strong>, just two hours north of Brisbane.</p> <p>There are three different areas for you to choose from and a couple of creek crossings. Therefore, it’s better to visit in a four-wheel-drive or a high clearance vehicle. Two of the camping areas are only suitable for tents and swags (Car parks and sites are separated by pylons). Whereas the third area more open plan and convenient for campers and caravans.</p> <p>The beautiful crystal clear creek runs alongside two camping areas, but the best spot to swim and the deepest pool is alongside Camping area three. There are 24 sites available here and a decent amount of bushland in between each tent. Keep in mind that you’re camping on National Park grounds, so the price is affordable, drop toilets provided, and a campfire pit.</p> <p>Escape the hustle and bustle of city life and give Booloumba Creek a try on your next time away. You will never want to leave this beautiful place!</p> <p>By Chris from <a href="http://aquariustraveller.com/">Aquarius Traveller</a></p> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">2. It is one of the most pristine and beautiful islands in Australia, and definitely a contender for one of the top camping destinations.</p> <p>There are 6 campgrounds to choose from, giving you plenty of options. Adder Rock and Cylinder Beach are two of the most popular campgrounds, thanks to their beach-side location. There’s tent and <a href="https://outdoorexplorer.com.au/best-swags-australia/">swag</a> sites, caravan sites and even cabins, so there’s something for everyone.</p> <p>You can even camp on Main Beach, which is a 38 kilometre stretch of white sand and blue water running along the eastern side of the island. The campsites are nicely spread out, meaning that this is a great option if you want to enjoy the serenity of nature without anyone else around.</p> <p>In terms of activities, you can go whale and dolphin watching from Point Lookout, sandboarding on the dunes or even hiking to the two freshwater lakes on the island. Fishing, snorkelling and surfing are also popular activities.</p> <p>The island is accessible by vehicle ferry, so if you bring your 4WD and <a href="https://outdoorexplorer.com.au/best-roof-top-tents-australia/">rooftop tent</a> you can enjoy the off road tracks snaking through the centre of the island.</p> <p>By Louis from <a href="http://OutdoorExplorer.com.au">Outdoor Explorer </a></p> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">3. Best of all, there are multiple campsites throughout the region that range from super simple to fully-powered holiday parks. Conto’s Campsite is a seaside campsite with incredible views, just a short walk away from a quiet, white sand beach. Many hikers venturing along the 1,000 Bibbulmun Track that weaves along Western Australia’s coastline use the campsite as a short stay.</p> <p><br>In the town of Margaret River itself, campers can stay at a caravan park within walking distance from the town’s pubs, restaurants, and boutiques. Around Margaret River, there are over 200 vineyards, making this area one of Australia’s largest wine regions. Some tour companies, like Surf ‘N’ Dirt Adventure Tours combine adventure the best of everything with trips that start with a kayak through Blackwood River, surf lesson, or mountain biking excursion and end with a tour of the top local wineries. </p> <p>By Chantae from <a href="https://chantae.com/">Chantae Was Here</a></p> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">4. Visiting this stunning park on a day trip is one of the best <a href="https://destinationlesstravel.com/things-to-do-in-darwin-australia/">things to do in Darwin</a>, however, for an even better experience you should camp there! That’s right, there are multiple campgrounds in Litchfield National Park that’ll allow you to enjoy the area all that much more. </p> <p>When you camp in Litchfield National Park you’ll have the benefit of visiting some of the most popular attractions without the company of hundreds of other tourists. After all the tour buses have left as well as the day-trippers, the park becomes considerably quieter. Head to Florence Falls for a sunset swim, or walk to the top of Wangi Falls for an epic viewpoint. Start your morning with a relaxing dip in Buley Rock Pools or get a picture with the gigantic termite mounds. The attractions in this park are exceptional, especially with fewer people around. </p> <p>The campsites also have great facilities in Litchfield National Park. Expect fire pits and bathrooms with showers. There are also cooking facilities including BBQs and tap water available. They are reasonably priced at $6.60 per adult per night. The best campgrounds you can choose from include Wangi Falls and Florence Falls which are open all year round and 2wd and caravan accessible. </p> <p>By Bailey from <a href="https://destinationlesstravel.com/">Destinationless Travel </a> </p> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">5. Although close to Sydney, the valley is surrounded by national parks that feature dramatic escarpments, forests and waterfalls. Carrington Falls, Fitzroy Falls, Morton National Park and Cambewarra Lookout are all must see sites in the area.</p> <p>A highlight of Kangaroo Valley is the Kangaroo River which is a great spot for kayaking, fishing swimming and wildlife encounters. Kayaking up the river is also a great way to get deep into Morton National Park. There are campgrounds up the river so you can paddle and stay overnight in the national park.</p> <p>One of the most popular things about Kangaroo Valley, is the <a href="https://curiouscampers.com.au/kangaroo-valley-camping-guide/">Bendeela Recreation Area</a>; a beautiful, large free camping area. It is right on the river and the perfect base for both getting onto the water and exploring Kangaroo Valley more widely. There is lots of grass, shade and wildlife. In the evenings expect to be sharing your site with wombats and, of course, kangaroos. Bookings are essential and can be made through the WaterNSW website.</p> <p>By Natalie at <a href="http://Curiouscampers.com.au">Curious Campers</a></p> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">6. Located on the Freycinet Peninsula approximately 2.5 – 3 hours from Hobart, this destination is one not to miss on any Tasmania adventure. While many choose to visit Wineglass Bay on a day trip, for the best Wineglass Bay experience, consider camping under the stars and beside the roar of the Tasman Sea at the Wineglass Bay campsite.</p> <p>The Wineglass Bay campsite is a hike-in campsite located at the far (southern) side of Wineglass Bay. The hike to reach the campsite is approximately 3km one way over the Hazards Mountain Range encasing the bay. The view from Wineglass Bay Lookout is the most breathtaking view of the hike with expansive views over the bay, the Tasman Sea and Freycinet National Park.</p> <p>Camping at Wineglass Bay is free; however, a Tasmania National Parks Pass is required to visit the Freycinet National Park. The only facilities at the Wineglass Bay campsite is a composting toilet, so be prepared with plenty of water to drink on the hike. No campfires are allowed at the campsites.</p> <p>While you can enjoy camping at Wineglass Bay with an in and out hike, it is recommended to extend your hiking in the Freycinet National Park with the Wineglass Bay and Hazards Beach 11km circuit (4-5 hours) or the 27km <a href="https://thevanabondtales.com/freycinet-peninsula-circuit/"><strong>Freycinet Peninsula Circuit</strong></a> (2-3 days).</p> <p>Camping at Wineglass Bay was one of our favorite experiences in Tasmania. It is a chance to experience Wineglass Bay without anyone else around and take in the breathtaking nature of Australia’s southern isle. </p> <p>By Kelli and Eddie from T<a href="https://thevanabondtales.com/">he Vanabond Tales</a></p> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">7. It sits right by the coast close to Seventeen Seventy which marks the point where James Cook supposedly first arrived in Australia. Agnes Water is the perfect spot for camping. You’ll find several official campsites but also great opportunities for wild camping. Proceed with caution though and make sure to follow any local laws and regulations <a class="" href="https://guideyourtravel.com/read-this-before-you-try-wild-camping-in-australia/">before you try wild camping in Australia</a>. The campsite in Agnes Water is located right by the beach. If you enjoy watersports and exploring the great outdoors this is definitely the spot for you. Agnes Water is known for offering one of the most affordable surf lessons in the country. For only 17$ you can learn how to surf and they’ll even guarantee that you’ll be able to stand after just one day. I could not handle how beautiful Australia was, I started crying which soon turn into laughter. I was standing on a beach in Perth in my new UGG boots, crying and laughing like a crazy person. Suddenly, I had this strong desire to be in the ocean. I knew that the water would be freezing, but I did not care, the ocean is my one, true love. It was almost as if there was a siren trying to lure me in the sea. I took off my UGGs, sweater and pants and walked into the waves. The water was freezing! I decided that doing the polar dip probably wasn’t a good idea, so I sat on the beach, close enough for the waves to crash onto my legs. Every time the water touched my skin I would feel goosebumps and shivers take over my body, but the cold water made me feel alive. I sat and just breathed in the salty air. It was just me and the ocean in Australia and it was perfect.</span></p> </div> </div> <p><span id="more-8436"></span></p> <div class="drop-target "> <div class="editor-dragdrop__container null"> <p data-key="jm1j0v01"><span data-key="jm1j0v00">Australia has a very special place in my heart. From watching every episode of the Crocodile Hunter, I knew that the squeaky sound the baby croc was making, was a call for help to it’s mother. Even though I was in the Billabong Sanctuary, and I knew that the mother was in another habitat, all I could picture was a 17 foot Saltwater Crocodile jumping out of the water and rescuing its baby. But excitement soon pushed the nerves away as I marvelled at the moment I was living. There I was, an 18-year-old Canadian, getting to be up close and personal with Saltwater Crocodiles. Not only do I love all animals and am completely fascinated by them, but since I was 10 I had been dreaming of visiting Australia and playing with Crocs, and I was finally doing that. I looked down at the little guy in my hands, and studied his cool eyes, scales, and long body. Crocs, like most reptiles, are misunderstood creatures and few people get to see them in real life let alone hold one. The little cutie was super cool and I fell in love with him. It was a once in a lifetime experience (unless you live in Townsville haha) that I will tell my grandchildren about.</span></p> <p><span id="more-1648"></span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1655" src="http://www.lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/423871_10150658647486210_1903531471_n.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="640" srcset="https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/423871_10150658647486210_1903531471_n.jpg 960w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/423871_10150658647486210_1903531471_n-300x200.jpg 300w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/423871_10150658647486210_1903531471_n-768x512.jpg 768w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/423871_10150658647486210_1903531471_n-800x533.jpg 800w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/423871_10150658647486210_1903531471_n-560x373.jpg 560w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/423871_10150658647486210_1903531471_n-600x400.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /></span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">While I was traveling around Australia, I stayed in the city of </span><a href="https://www.townsvillenorthqueensland.com.au/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Townsville</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> for three months and I took a trip to the Billabong Sanctuary. Getting to feed and pet Kangaroos was one of them. The Kangaroos bounced around the whole Sanctuary and interacted with the guests. People could feed the roos, pet them and take pictures with them. The Aussies treated the Kangaroos like North Americans treat goats at petting zoos. I got some Roo food and walked up to a little grey guy. I stuck my hand out and he started to eat from my hand. He hung around me for awhile and I got to pet him and tell him that he was super cute and that I loved him. I was loving my life. I gave my camera to one of my traveling companions and tried to get my new furry friend to look at the camera. Pervious to this I had only seen these cute, bouncing Aussies on the Discover Channel, and now I was trying to get one to smile at the camera, I could not believe this was real life.</span></p> <p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1650" src="http://www.lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/404774_10150658647941210_1694705852_n.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="640" srcset="https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/404774_10150658647941210_1694705852_n.jpg 960w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/404774_10150658647941210_1694705852_n-300x200.jpg 300w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/404774_10150658647941210_1694705852_n-768x512.jpg 768w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/404774_10150658647941210_1694705852_n-800x533.jpg 800w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/404774_10150658647941210_1694705852_n-560x373.jpg 560w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/404774_10150658647941210_1694705852_n-600x400.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /></p> <p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1654" src="http://www.lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/422295_10150658652071210_225718957_n.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="640" srcset="https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/422295_10150658652071210_225718957_n.jpg 960w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/422295_10150658652071210_225718957_n-300x200.jpg 300w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/422295_10150658652071210_225718957_n-768x512.jpg 768w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/422295_10150658652071210_225718957_n-800x533.jpg 800w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/422295_10150658652071210_225718957_n-560x373.jpg 560w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/422295_10150658652071210_225718957_n-600x400.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Soon after taking a rather disappointingly mediocre picture, my little Kangaroo bounced away and I walked over to see the Dingos. The Dingo Handler came out with a white, small German Shepard-like canine on a purple leash. He was adorable. The handler was telling us about how this is Australia’s tallest predator and how in the wild, Dingos are very dangerous. Everything he was saying was so hard to believe because as he was talking I was playing with the Dingo like he was a household pet. He was licking my face as I petted him. He rolled on his back and I gave him a tummy rub. I thought very hard about stealing the Dingo and taking him back to Canada to be my best friend forever, but I decided that wasn’t a great idea. Also, I’m pretty sure I said “the dingo ate my baby” in my best Aussie accent at least ten thousand times.</span></p> <p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1656" src="http://www.lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/424199_10150658651041210_1244745787_n.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="960" srcset="https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/424199_10150658651041210_1244745787_n.jpg 960w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/424199_10150658651041210_1244745787_n-150x150.jpg 150w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/424199_10150658651041210_1244745787_n-300x300.jpg 300w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/424199_10150658651041210_1244745787_n-768x768.jpg 768w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/424199_10150658651041210_1244745787_n-800x800.jpg 800w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/424199_10150658651041210_1244745787_n-560x560.jpg 560w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/424199_10150658651041210_1244745787_n-250x250.jpg 250w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/424199_10150658651041210_1244745787_n-120x120.jpg 120w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/424199_10150658651041210_1244745787_n-600x600.jpg 600w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/424199_10150658651041210_1244745787_n-100x100.jpg 100w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /></p> <p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1653" src="http://www.lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/420845_10150658651436210_1938614837_n.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="640" srcset="https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/420845_10150658651436210_1938614837_n.jpg 960w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/420845_10150658651436210_1938614837_n-300x200.jpg 300w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/420845_10150658651436210_1938614837_n-768x512.jpg 768w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/420845_10150658651436210_1938614837_n-800x533.jpg 800w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/420845_10150658651436210_1938614837_n-560x373.jpg 560w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/420845_10150658651436210_1938614837_n-600x400.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The last highlight of my day at the Billabong Sanctuary was getting to watch the adult Saltwater Crocodile being fed. As previously mentioned I am a huge fan of crocs, getting to see these dinosaurs close up (yet at a safe distance) was phenomenal. Being able to watch the almost 2,000-lbs animal jump out of the water and chomp down on a piece of meat with its powerful jaws was just remarkable. As I was watching the feeding, I thought back to earlier that day when I was holding the 20-lb baby croc. I thought about how that little guy would soon grow to be as big as the Crocodile I was watching. I was astonished that within a few hours I had a front row experience to the circle of life. It was sensational experience that reminded how precious our planet’s wildlife is.</span></p> <p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1659" src="http://www.lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/427666_10150658650841210_1978078162_n.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="640" srcset="https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/427666_10150658650841210_1978078162_n.jpg 960w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/427666_10150658650841210_1978078162_n-300x200.jpg 300w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/427666_10150658650841210_1978078162_n-768x512.jpg 768w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/427666_10150658650841210_1978078162_n-800x533.jpg 800w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/427666_10150658650841210_1978078162_n-560x373.jpg 560w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/427666_10150658650841210_1978078162_n-600x400.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /></p> <p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1652" src="http://www.lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/419476_10150658650696210_1548399244_n.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="640" srcset="https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/419476_10150658650696210_1548399244_n.jpg 960w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/419476_10150658650696210_1548399244_n-300x200.jpg 300w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/419476_10150658650696210_1548399244_n-768x512.jpg 768w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/419476_10150658650696210_1548399244_n-800x533.jpg 800w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/419476_10150658650696210_1548399244_n-560x373.jpg 560w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/419476_10150658650696210_1548399244_n-600x400.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;"> The </span><a href="http://www.billabongsanctuary.com.au/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Billabong Sanctuary – Australian Wildlife Experience</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> was one of the coolest places I visited while in Townsville, Australia. When I met new people on my adventures, a question I love to ask them is “If you could do anything right now, and money doesn’t matter, and you have all the technical advancements you need, what would you do?” Hearing peoples responses is always fascinating. Some people would take a trip to the moon, some would pursue their artistic dreams and others dream of their</span><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lB8Nkn3Xjes"><span style="font-weight: 400;"> toes in the water, ass in the sand not worry in the world and a cold beer in their hand.</span></a></p> <p><span id="more-650"></span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;"> My answer to this question is ( drum roll, please): If I could do anything in the world, I would move to Colorado Springs and then take a nice, long trip to the glorious “Down Under.” Colorado Springs is my favourite city but Australia is my all-time favourite country. I have driven all over Queensland, down the east coast and visited a few cities in Western Australia. White, sandy beaches, crystal-clear blue waters, green, lush rain forests and the red rocky landscape of the Outback make Australia one of the most <img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class=" wp-image-1601 alignright" src="http://www.lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_0891-e1478743893987.jpg" alt="img_0891" width="234" height="238" srcset="https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_0891-e1478743893987.jpg 717w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_0891-e1478743893987-295x300.jpg 295w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_0891-e1478743893987-560x569.jpg 560w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_0891-e1478743893987-600x610.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 234px) 100vw, 234px" />beautiful places i’ve ever explored. The laid-back attitude is another component that draws me; they are so easygoing that you don’t even have to wear shoes while shopping at the grocery store. YOU DON’T HAVE TO WEAR SHOES! Australia also has my favourite ice cream snack, </span><a href="https://www.buzzfeed.com/lanesainty/this-is-for-everyone-who-doesnt-know-about-golden-gaytimes?utm_term=.qu9X6gw2Xk#.thNn14O6nM"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Golden Gaytime</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. I love Australia so much and will visit every chance I get. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Back in 2013, I was traveling the world with a small group of photographers. When I found out that one of our destinations was Jakarta, Indonesia, I immediately got super excited that I would be so close to the land of Oz. Once I started thinking about Australia, I started to get really emotional, missing everything I love so much about it. I could not handle it. I knew that I would regret it greatly if I didn’t pop by Australia. I looked up plane tickets and found that Perth was only a four hour plane ride from Jakarta! So, I quickly convinced one of my travelling companions that we </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">needed</span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;"> to visit Perth and we booked tickets. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-1600 alignleft" src="http://www.lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_4625.jpg" alt="img_4625" width="518" height="822" /></span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;"> When the time came for us to go to Perth, I was like a kid in a candy store. Folks, close your eyes and think back to a time in your life where you were so incredibly excited about something. Maybe think back to that one Christmas you got the gift you wanted, or when you got your first car, or the day your first child was born. Now multiply that excitement by eight, and that should give you an idea of my excitement level for going to Perth. We got to the airport, went through security, waited at our gate for what felt like four years and then finally boarded our flight. (Quick sidebar, while at the Jakarta airport I saw the hottest surfer I had ever seen in my entire life. He was tall, tan, muscular, had long blonde hair, and I assumed he was Australian. I know this has nothing to do with this story, but he was Brad Pitt beautiful and I just had to mention it.) </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;"> We were almost to Perth when the pilot came on and informed us of some troubling news. Perth was experiencing some fog and due to some of the airport policies we had to wait to the fog clear up. This news upset every passenger on the flight except for yours truly. We were still technically in Australia and that’s all that mattered. We flew around the Perth airport for an hour, but the fog did not clear. The pilot came on the speaker again and informed us that the fog would not be clear and the plane would soon be out of fuel. So, he had to land the plane at a smaller airport that was in </span><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalgoorlie"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Kalgoorlie-Boulder</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. If that wasn’t bad enough, the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Airport is a domestic airport and does not have any customs officers. Because we were flying in from Indonesia, we were an international flight, and needed to clear customs before entering the country. No passenger was allowed off the plane. The pilot assured us that as soon as planes could fly out of Perth, they would send over customs officers and we could get out and get everyone back to Perth. We literally sat on the airplane for 11 hours without food or water, beside a smelly Aussie before customs officers from Perth arrived. (</span><a href="http://www.perthnow.com.au/news/western-australia/heavy-fog-disrupts-perth-flights-makes-driving-difficult/story-fnhocxo3-1226661123366"><span style="font-weight: 400;">I found a news article that talks about it</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">) Once they arrived, we went into the airport and they just smiled and gave us a Vegemite sandwich. And while everyone else was stressed out and upset that all this happened to us, I was as pumped up as the energizer bunny. Sure, I was dehydrated beyond belief, but I was in Australia, and nothing could get me down. While I was waiting in the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Airport, I discovered that their little snack shop sold my favourite ice cream treat, Golden Gaytime. I was overtired, dirty and had my contacts in for over 30 hours, but none of that seemed to matter because I was in my favourite country, eating my favourite ice cream ever. We waited another 8 hours in the airport and then we finally caught a flight to Perth.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Let me tell you, the wild adventure was worth it. Perth was fabulous. I recommend everyone take a trip. Like, pack a bag and book a flight right now. Perth is a vibrant, artistic city with a bustling downtown that’s mixed with a laid-back beach town. I spent every day exploring unique cafes, shops and bars in the city and soaked in the sun while watching surfers ride waves on white sandy beaches. It has all the excitement of a city while at the same time, it’s a paradise on the Indian Ocean.</span></p> <p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-1602 aligncenter" src="http://www.lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_4441.jpg" alt="img_4441" width="5184" height="3456" srcset="https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_4441.jpg 5184w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_4441-300x200.jpg 300w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_4441-768x512.jpg 768w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_4441-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_4441-1200x800.jpg 1200w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_4441-1600x1067.jpg 1600w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_4441-800x533.jpg 800w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_4441-560x373.jpg 560w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_4441-600x400.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 5184px) 100vw, 5184px" /></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;"> One of the top ten best days I’ve ever lived was while I was in Perth. I was there in Australia’s winter, which feels likes Ontario’s Fall, which is my favourite weather, so waking up to the fresh, crisp, cool air started the day on a great note. I started off the day with a coffee from </span><span style="font-weight: 400;"><a href="https://www.gloriajeans.com/">Gloria Jean’s Coffee</a>s</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1603" src="http://www.lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_4428.jpg" alt="img_4428" width="3456" height="5184" /></span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Then my traveling buddy and I visited The Hay Street Mall, which is a outdoor mall with heaps of great stores. This mall trip was great for three reasons. Number 1) we visited my favourite Australia clothing store, </span><a href="http://www.citybeach.com.au/shop/en/citybeach"><span style="font-weight: 400;">City Beach Australia</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. Number 2) I bought a pair of UGG boots which pleased my basic white girl soul. And number 3) the streets that make up the mall are filled with street performers and buskers. While we walked from store to store, we were either being serenaded by talented musicians or we were breaking out into laughter from the entertaining street performers.</span></p> <p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1604" src="http://www.lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_4431.jpg" alt="img_4431" width="3456" height="5184" srcset="https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_4431.jpg 3456w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_4431-200x300.jpg 200w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_4431-768x1152.jpg 768w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_4431-683x1024.jpg 683w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_4431-1200x1800.jpg 1200w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_4431-1600x2400.jpg 1600w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_4431-800x1200.jpg 800w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_4431-560x840.jpg 560w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/IMG_4431-600x900.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 3456px) 100vw, 3456px" /></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;"> After shopping, we hopped on the bus and made our way to the beach. We walked along the white sand and watched huge waves crash into the shore. Being photographers, we took out our cameras and explored the area while creating art. I was capturing the beautiful turquoise colour of the Indian ocean while it’s waves mesmerized me. It was just me and the ocean in Australia and it was perfect.</span></p> <p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1605" src="http://www.lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/1014434_10151552317281089_83395093_n-2.jpg" alt="1014434_10151552317281089_83395093_n-2" width="960" height="640" srcset="https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/1014434_10151552317281089_83395093_n-2.jpg 960w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/1014434_10151552317281089_83395093_n-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/1014434_10151552317281089_83395093_n-2-768x512.jpg 768w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/1014434_10151552317281089_83395093_n-2-800x533.jpg 800w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/1014434_10151552317281089_83395093_n-2-560x373.jpg 560w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/1014434_10151552317281089_83395093_n-2-600x400.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;"> After the beach I dried off and we went to The </span><a href="http://greenhouseperth.com/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Greenhouse Perth</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> for dinner. This is my favourite restaurant in the city, and definitely makes the list of top ten restaurants I have ever been to. It is an eco-friendly restaurant whose goal is to design better spaces for people and serve fresh food, straight from the garden. The exterior of their building is covered with strawberry and ivy plants in tiny pots, which are super cute. The interior is has an even more unique design and features a bar that hangs it’s liquor bottles from the ceiling. The food and cocktails are made from the freshest ingredients and were absolutely delicious. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;"> The remainder of the night was spent having great conversations with some locals and other tourist we had met. Is this real life? Am I actually in Australia right now?!” The answer was obviously yes, and the proof was in my sore legs that had been cramped on a plane for 20 hours as we flew over the Pacific Ocean. I had been dreaming about coming to Australia since I was 10 years old and watching the Crocodile Hunter, and now I was finally here. I was unbelievably excited – I do not think I have been as excited about anything in my whole life.</span></p> <p>I left the snowy cold winds of the Canadian winter and was pleasantly greeted by the warm golden sunshine filled Aussie summer. I spent six months living down under and while I was there I experienced everything that I had ever wished I would do in Australia. It was a trip of a lifetime and I often refer to those six months as the highlight of my life, even though the adventures following this trip were just as amazing and fun.<span id="more-7875"></span><span style="font-weight: 400;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-7881" src="https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/546428_10150986472651210_820639784_n.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="640" srcset="https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/546428_10150986472651210_820639784_n.jpg 960w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/546428_10150986472651210_820639784_n-300x200.jpg 300w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/546428_10150986472651210_820639784_n-768x512.jpg 768w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/546428_10150986472651210_820639784_n-800x533.jpg 800w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/546428_10150986472651210_820639784_n-560x373.jpg 560w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/546428_10150986472651210_820639784_n-600x400.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" />Australia is a large country with so many attractions to see and adventures to live. I also saw so many wild kangaroos which was a dream come true. Pro tip: While you can have a lot of fun camping in the outback, please keep in mind that Australia is home to a ridiculously large amount of poisonous (and when feeling threatened) dangerous animals and plants. I have seen brown snakes, tarantulas, scorpions, and poisonous frogs in the wild and I know a few people that have been injured because they got to close to a kangaroo. Please be smart and do your reach on what you should be looking for, and what to avoid. There are numerous </span><a href="https://www.capetribbeach.com.au/4-must-hikes-daintree/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">walking trails </span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">you can take to experience the beauty of the unique nature and wildlife. Pro tip: Stay on the path. Stay on the path. STAY ON THE PATH! As I mentioned above, Australia has poisonous (and when feeling threatened) dangerous animals and plants and the Daintree Rainforest is home to both. Among the vegetation of the Daintree Rainforest is the world’s most venomous plants, </span><a href="https://www.capetribbeach.com.au/top-3-dangerous-plants-daintree-rainforest/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Stinging Tree, Wait-A-While and The Tar Tree</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. I had a friend who left the path to get a better photo and ran right into a Stinging Tree plant and had to be rushed to the hospital. If you stick to the path and do not touch the vegetation you should be okay. <img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-7880" src="https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/IMG_5892.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="720" srcset="https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/IMG_5892.jpg 960w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/IMG_5892-300x225.jpg 300w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/IMG_5892-768x576.jpg 768w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/IMG_5892-800x600.jpg 800w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/IMG_5892-560x420.jpg 560w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/IMG_5892-120x90.jpg 120w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/IMG_5892-600x450.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /></span></p> <ol start="5"> <li> <h3><a href="https://www.bridgeclimb.com/"><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Climb Sydney Harbour Bridge</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">: </span></h3> </li> </ol> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is one of the more adventurous attractions in the city of Sydney. Forget the ‘American Dream’ – the ‘Australian Dream’ is the real deal! There is a million reasons why I love Sydney, Australia. First of all, it’s always warm (at least compared to Denmark). Secondly, there’s literally endless amounts of things to do so you’ll never be bored! There are heaps of beaches to go to and heaps walking/ hiking trails. It has amazing food and coffee, and so many parks and markets to explore. Only a few hours away are the beautiful Blue Mountains! You will love Sydney because no matter what kind of lifestyle you like – hippie, high-class, surfing, you name it – Sydney has it. On top of, that you can also experience everything you want to super easily because the public transportation system is well functioning, you can get everywhere without struggling.</span></p> <p><span id="more-2043"></span></p> <p><b>When to go:</b></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you love the heat and loads of sunshine the best time to go visit Sydney, or Australia in general, is definitely in January or February. Beware that it is the wet season (from October to March), but from personal experiences it’s not as bad as it sounds. January and February, however, are the warmest months and the city is full of life and tourists. People enjoy their days at outdoor cafes and have delicious food or coffee. Australia is really famous for their coffees and avo toast (avocado), there is nothing like grabbing a coffee and avo toast and enjoying them under the sunshine. Also, during these months all the beautiful flowers are in full bloom. If you really want to avoid rainy days completely, it can still be fairly warm in March as well. When I was there it was around 20 degrees Celsius and still there was so much to do. There’s always something going on in this big city, so I promise you, you won’t be bored! <img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2046" src="https://www.lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_6891.jpg" alt="" width="4032" height="3024" /></span></p> <p><b>What to do: </b></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">I could probably write books about what to do in Sydney, but I won’t (at least not for now, haha). Instead I’d like to share my favourite activities to do in Sydney with you.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Beaches are a must! Sydney is famous for its beautiful beaches. </span><a href="https://24hourslayover.com/bondi-beach-facts"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Bondi</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, </span><a href="https://www.sydney.com/destinations/sydney/sydney-east/bondi/attractions/tamarama-beach"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Tamarama</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, </span><a href="https://www.sydney.com/destinations/sydney/sydney-east/coogee"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Coogee</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">,</span> <a href="https://www.manlyaustralia.com.au/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Manly</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, </span><a href="https://www.visitnsw.com/destinations/north-coast/lismore-area/evans-head/attractions/shark-bay"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Shark Bay</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, and </span><a href="https://www.australia.com/en-ca/places/sydney-and-surrounds/locals-guide-to-palm-beach.html"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Palm Beach</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> are just a few. The first three ones you can see by doing the famous </span><a href="http://www.bonditocoogeewalk.com/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Bondi to Coogee walk</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> where you’ll also encounter the famous </span><a href="https://icebergs.com.au/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Bondi Iceberg</span></a> <span style="font-weight: 400;">and the famous </span><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waverley_Cemetery"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Waverley Cemetery.</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> You will definitely find a lot of surfers, and maybe a few spiders (don’t worry, they rarely hurt people). If you go fo a swim you might get to see some cute fishes or even a shark!</span></p> <p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2047" src="https://www.lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0993.jpg" alt="" width="3264" height="2448" srcset="https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0993.jpg 3264w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0993-300x225.jpg 300w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0993-768x576.jpg 768w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0993-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0993-1200x900.jpg 1200w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0993-1600x1200.jpg 1600w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0993-800x600.jpg 800w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0993-560x420.jpg 560w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0993-120x90.jpg 120w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0993-600x450.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 3264px) 100vw, 3264px" /></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">There are a lot of National parks in Sydney. Take a day out of your calendar and go to the </span><a href="https://www.visitnsw.com/destinations/blue-mountains"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Blue Mountains</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> or the </span><a href="http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/visit-a-park/parks/royal-national-park"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Royal National Park</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> where you can see the </span><a href="http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/things-to-do/Lookouts/figure-eight-pools"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Figure 8 Pools</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. Both are roughly two hours away by train and half an hour walk from the train station, so bring a lot of food and water and be sure to wear comfortable shoes. Make sure you check out the </span><a href="http://www.sydneytrains.info/timetables/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">train times</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> before you go. If you go to the Figure 8 Pools, promise me that you’ll only go when it’s low tide since it can be pretty dangerous out there during high tide, trust me, I know from experience. PS. If you’re living on a budget, get an Opal Card and go on Sundays. It’s only $2.60 for transport the entire day with this card – and it can be used in most parts of New South Wales.</span></p> <p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2048" src="https://www.lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0085.jpg" alt="" width="4032" height="3024" srcset="https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0085.jpg 4032w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0085-300x225.jpg 300w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0085-768x576.jpg 768w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0085-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0085-1200x900.jpg 1200w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0085-1600x1200.jpg 1600w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0085-800x600.jpg 800w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0085-560x420.jpg 560w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0085-120x90.jpg 120w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0085-600x450.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 4032px) 100vw, 4032px" /></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Markets are something Sydney is also really famous for. </span><a href="http://www.glebemarkets.com.au/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Glebe Market</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> is my personal favourite but there are a lot of good ones such as The Rocks Market, Chinatown Night Market, Paddy’s Market and many more.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Be sure to check out Sydney’s night clubs. Sydney is famous for its nightlife and is home to a ton of unique bars and clubs. You can honestly walk around and find a random bars or clubs all night long. I recommend heading to Kings Cross, it has some great nightlife. Queen Street as comes alive at night, with a fun range of gay and straight bars.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you’re into a chill atmosphere, great pizza, and good beers, </span><a href="http://frankiespizzabytheslice.com/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Frankie’s Pizza</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> is the place you should go. It’s a local favorite and I promise you, you won’t be leaving early. </span><a href="https://www.worldsbestbars.com/bar/sydney/city-center/the-ivy"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ivy</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, which is a super high-class night club with a rooftop pool. Definitely do not miss out on Ivy. I’ve heard it’s best on Thursday because they have free entrance! <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/15.0.3/72x72/1f609.png" alt="😉" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Lastly, if you are a true backpacker you don’t want to miss out on </span><a href="http://www.scarycanary.net/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Scary Canary</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. This is one of the most famous backpacker bars in Sydney and it’s connected to the Base Hostel. Good fun and affordable drinks!</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Pro tip: be aware of the lockout they have. This means that no one can enter the bar after 1.30 am and that no drinks will be served after 3.00 am.</span></p> <p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2049" src="https://www.lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0060.jpg" alt="" width="4032" height="3024" srcset="https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0060.jpg 4032w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0060-300x225.jpg 300w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0060-768x576.jpg 768w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0060-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0060-1200x900.jpg 1200w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0060-1600x1200.jpg 1600w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0060-800x600.jpg 800w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0060-560x420.jpg 560w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0060-120x90.jpg 120w, https://lovinglifewithcass.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_0060-600x450.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 4032px) 100vw, 4032px" /></p> <p><b>What to eat and where to eat</b></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">When you go to Australia, there are a few things that you have to try. One of things is coffee, as Australians are amazing at brewing a hot cup of joe. Do yourself a favour and order yourself a Flat White, it is an Australian native espresso based drink. One place I can recommend is my old workplace which is called </span><a href="https://meccacoffee.com.au"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Mecca Espresso</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, they have a few locations around the city.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Avo toasts are Australians’ favourite and you need to eat this at least once a day because it’s so yummy! One place you can get this is at </span><a href="http://nookfreshbar.com.au"><span style="font-weight: 400;">‘noOk Urban Fresh Bar</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> on Hunter Street. If you don’t like avo toasts you should still go here because I can guarantee you that this places serves the the best food I’ve had while traveling! They have some delicious vegan options as well!</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">And of course you should try the classic Australian favourite, </span><a href="https://vegemite.com.au/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Vegemite</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. Most people think that it tastes like tar but Aussies actually love it (and so do I). It’s worth a try! </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A last place I’ll recommend is the famous ice cream store called </span><a href="http://www.gelatomessina.com/au/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Gelato Messina</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. They make amazing ice cream with various options and usually around 5 special flavours of the week. They hold the title for best ice cream in Australia. So delicious!</span></p> <hr /> <p><strong>This post was written by the fabulous Josefine.
