I used to hate the winter. The cold would make me want to crawl back into bed and hibernate until spring time. However, after spending a year traveling to hot destinations and staying in hostels without air-con, I have come to fully appreciate the winter season. Ever since, I have embraced winter and now I love it! Traveling to destinations in the winter is now something that I look forward to, and I am just as excited to spend a week in a cozy cabin in the snowy mountains as I am to spend a week on the beach in a bikini.
If you are a winter lover like myself or you want to try to make an effort to have fun during the winter, why not take a trip to one or all these amazing destinations during the winter.

1. Whistler, Canada
Enjoy all the snowboarding, skiing and shopping you can handle as you explore the beautiful Rocky mountain town, Whistler. Located in British Columbia, Whistler is home to one of the largest ski resorts in all of North America. The village is home to a ton of bars, spas, restaurants and shops.
2. Zermatt, Switzerland
Zermatt has some of the world’s greatest ski resorts. The Zermatt skiing area is Europe’s highest skiing region, with more than 360 kilometres of stunning runs in both Switzerland and Italy. Matterhorn is the jewel of the Swiss Alps. At 4,478 meters, the majestic Matterhorn – certainly the most famous mountain in Europe – looms over the breathtaking Alpine panorama. You can get an international ski pass and be able to ski on both the Swiss and Italian side. There is so much to do here. You can spend these days skiing, enjoying the spa, taking a train ride in the mountains, shopping, exploring the mountains, enjoying the nightlife, listening to live music, participating in other winter games, ex. curling and of course eating delicious food. 3. Finland
The country of Finland is great to experience in the winter months. You can do pretty much any winter activity there, including enjoying a sleigh ride pulled by real reindeer! AH! Finland is a country that I am dying to visit, for many reasons but one in particular is to stay in a glass igloo, and fall asleep looking at the glorious northern lights.
4. London, England
I spent a week in London in before Christmas, and it was absolutely magical. London in the winter (specifically at Christmas) is the best. The whole city is covered in beautiful Christmas lights, and wondering down oxford street is perfect. If you have never spent Christmas in London, I suggest you make last minute plans to do so, or plan for the next year.
5. Montreal, Canada
Canada’s beautiful bilingual city is the perfect city to explore in the winter. It is a beautiful city, filled with art, music, great coffee and culture.
