Great American Road Trips

One of my favourite adventures to have is a great long (or short) road trip! I love having the wind blow through my hair and singing (loudly) to my favourite songs while experiencing the freedom of the open road! I have been on a few great road trips in my life and every one has been a unique experience filled with laughter, love  and fun. Some of my favourite roads were from Toronto to Monterrey, from Cairns to Gold Coast, from Toronto to West Palm Beach, and from Bangkok to Chiang Mai.

Not only are road trips super fun but they are also great ways to explore the area around you and go on an adventure without spending billions of dollars. A great way to have a fun vacation at home, or a staycation, is by going on a road trip. No matter where you live, there is beauty and adventure around you, so why not hop in your car, your friends car, or your mom’s car and explore somewhere new!

If you live in North America, or want to fly over and rent a car (which is always a great idea, 10/10 recommend), check out this awesome road trip ideas.

Colorado Springs to L.A.

This road trip is one of my favourite trips I have ever done. It is a beautiful trip that will take you through the Rocky Mountains, the four corners, deserts of Arizona, the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, and bring you right to the gorgeous Pacific Ocean.

Virginia to North Carolina

Enjoy the beauty of the Appalachians as you drive through the Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway. You will slowly wind around stunning ridgelines, drive through historical towns and be in the Great Smoky Mountains.

West Coast – Mexico to Canada

On this drive you will get a good glimpse of North America. Start in the deserts of Mexico and end up in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, stopping in gorgeous locations in California, Oregon and Washington. Yes please!

The Big Island of Hawaii

For this road trip you will need to buy a plane ticket, unless you live there, but it is completely worth it. The Big Island has eight out of the thirteen climate zones. This makes the six-hour drive super exciting due to its ever-changing scenery. One minute you are enjoying the waves at the black sand beach, and the next you are on top of a snow capped mountain. It has beautiful waterfalls and is also home to not one, but FIVE volcanoes two of which are still active!

Route 66 Chicago to California

One of the most famous routes, and the “Main Street of America”, Route 66 will leave you captivated and inspired. On this drive you will drive through the heart of America, be exposed to America’s history and get to see some of the natural beauty the U.S.A. has to offer.
