Why You Should Go Hiking On Vacation
We were almost back to the cars, and I was exhausted, sore and honestly felt like I was going to break down and cry. I was in Hawaii and I was enjoying the most intense hike that I had ever been on in my whole life.
This journey was not just a hike in the woods, it was a long voyage that included, trespassing in the rain forest, crossing a river that was almost up to my neck, free climbing boulders and walking up a giant mountain of a hill with a steep incline.
While we were climbing the boulders I smacked my knee so hard against one of them, and it made the rest of the already hard journey that much tougher. My knee was throbbing, and every step I took was filled with pain. I was ready to get back to my room, take a shower and go to bed, but I finished the journey and only cried a little bit.
Even though this hike was super hard, it was breathtaking and beautiful and I would do it all again in a heartbeat! The hike lead to a beautiful waterfall and getting to see a part of Hawaii that not a lot of people get to experience was amazing. I’ll never forget that hiking trip – all of the beauty and pain has left a permanent impression in my mind.
Hiking is an activity that I have enjoyed for years now, I love getting to hike in every country that I visit. I think that hiking is a great activity and I recommend hitting up some hiking trails on every vacation you go on.
You maybe thinking, “Cass, why would I go hiking on my vacation, when I am going on vacation to relax?” Great question, thanks for asking. There are many reasons why you should go hiking on vacation and I will tell you why right now.
Hiking allows you to see the raw, natural beauty of the country you are visiting. Getting to be submerged in nature is great because it means that you are going to be able to see some beautiful sights, like waterfalls, caves, beaches, mountains, and wildlife. It is also great because it allows you to experience the “real” country. Leaving the resorts and hiking the trails of a country is like meeting locals, both will give you a glimpse of what the country is actually like.
Even though you are physically moving your body, hiking is a great way to relax and let go of stress. Hiking is a great activity to add to a relaxing vacation because it will only further remove any stress you are carrying.
In addition to relieving stress and adding to relaxation, hiking also boosts your health and attitude. Hiking helps your body and mental health, which will make your vacation that much better.
