Girl’s Getaway Canada Edition: Where To Explore With Your Friends
I love exploring the world by myself – it is great to be able to go where ever I want and do whatever I want to do. But sometimes a girl needs to explore with her friends. One of my favourite types of group trips is a girl’s getaway! It is so fun to be able to enjoy a weekend or week (maybe even a month) with your favourite girlfriends exploring a new destination. Which is why I create this Girl’s Getaway Canada Edition Guide.
Canada is a great location to explore with your best gal pals. Canada is home to beautiful ocean towns, mountain villages, trendy cities and (most importantly) picturesque wine regions. Grab a cup of tea (or glass of wine), call the girls, keep reading and start planning your next girl’s getaway in Canada.
The Best Location For A Girl’s Getaway In Canada
1. Ocean Getaway
If you are your girlfriends are looking to relax and by the sea, Canada has got you covered. Cozy up by the fire as you listen to the waves crash on the shore or get adventurous and take a surf lesson or kayak trip. No matter how you want to spend your girl’s trip by the ocean, these four beautiful coastal towns are perfect for you and your friends.
West Coast:
Tofino
Tofino is really something special. If you want to see one of Canada’s many hidden gems, then you need to plan your next girl’s trips to Tofino. It is the surf capital of Canada and is home to some perfect beaches. It also has a rainforest and perfect mountain views. Tofino is home to amazing wildlife, like bald eagles, black bears, wolves, orcas, sea lions and more. Sunshine Coast
Another great ocean location for the perfect girl’s trip on Canada’s West Coast is the Sunshine Coast. Artsy oceanside villages make up the Sunshine Coast. This 180 km area is known for its mild weather and forested mountains. Popular activities that you and the girls can enjoy are paddling, mountain biking, hiking, boating, and diving, or an afternoon gallery hopping, at a farmers market, or on a secluded beach.
East Coast:
Cape Breton Island
Cape Breton Island is located in Nova Scotia on Canada’s east coast and is one of the most stunning places on the Atlantic. You and the girls can enjoy amazing seafood and good wine as you admire perfect cliffs and ocean views. The area is also home to some amazing adventures like hiking and kayaking. You and your friends will not regret booking your next friends getaway to Cape Breton.
Cavendish
One of P.E.I`s major summertime destinations is Cavendish, and it is perfect for a Canadian girl’s getaway. You can visit the Ann of Green Gables house, enjoy the Cavendish Boardwalk as you pop into variety of shopping and indulge in delicious food. You can hike along the many trails in the area and of course, relax on one of the many marvellous red sand beaches.
2. Mountain Getaway
Want to surround yourself with nature while you relax and recharge? Then grab your girlfriends and enjoy a girl’s trip into the Mountains. You can enjoy outdoor activities like skiing and snowboarding in the winter and hiking in summer. Canada’s mountain ranges are some of the most breathtaking in the world and will be the perfect backdrop for your group photos. Whistler
Whistler is one of the more popular mountain towns to explore in Canada, and once you get there you will understand why. The natural beauty of the area is absolutely gorgeous. Golden
Golden BC, is another perfect location for a mountain girl’s getaway in Canada. It is is a little less popular than Whistler but is just as beautiful. Golden BC is surrounded by six of Canada’s most stunning national parks: Yoho, Glacier, Banff, Jasper, Kootenay and Mount Revelstoke.
You and the girls can use Golden as your base from which to experience some of Canada’s most spectacular scenery, iconic hiking trails, waterfalls, lakes and heritage sites.
3. City Getaway
Shopping, and museums and trendy bars oh my! If you and your gal pals love the hustle and bustle of the city, then you must enjoy a girls getaway in one of Canada’s amazing cities.
Montreal
Montreal is my personal favourite city in Canada – it is magical. It is one of Canada’s capitals for fashion, art and music and is one of the largest francophone areas in North America. This amazing bilingual city is home to trendy neighbourhoods and boutiques and has a unique European flair to it. Montreal also offers delicious Canadian cuisine and is known for Poutine, Montreal bagels and Montreal smoked meat. It is the perfect city for a fun and trendy girl’s trip in Canada. Toronto
Toronto is the beautiful, dynamic capital city of Ontario, Canada and is great to visit with your fave gals. It is pretty much a clean New York. It is Canada’s largest city and is home to many cultures making Toronto one of the most diverse and cosmopolitan cities in the world. The city hosts film, art and music festivals all year round. It also has numerous museums and art galleries, and both live and motion picture theatre. There is something in Toronto for everyone to love and enjoy which makes it so great to explore. 4. Wine Country
What could be better than enjoying sampling some of Canada’s best wines while admiring the beautiful scenery and taking selfies with your best girlfriends! Nothing! If you want to enjoy a relaxing girls getaway, sipping wines, then a wine country girls getaway is right for you! Prince Edward County
Ontario’s fastest-growing wine region is one of the best areas to enjoy a girl’s weekend in Canada. Prince Edward County is only two hours away from Toronto and is home to nearly 40 wineries. The Okanagan Valley
The Okanagan is the most popular wine region in BC and spans over 180 km. It is a beautiful destination to explore with the girls, you can spend hours admiring fruit orchards and vineyards, learn about winemaking, and eat delicious food.
