9 Books That Have Changed My Life

Ever since I was a kid I loved reading, books were my first adventures, and reading fairy tales of princesses and princes in lands far far away ignited my imagination and transported me to a new exciting place. Reading allows me to travel all over the world and to fictional worlds without leaving my bedroom. Books really can be life changing.

I also find that travelling around the world is a great time to get some reading in – waiting at the airport, sitting on the airplane, tanning on the beach or taking a hiking break are all great times to enjoy the comfort of a strong narrative or self-development read.

As an adult, I have started to read self-help and self-development books. Diving into this new genre has allowed me to grow up and develop in so many areas of my life. I feel like each book I read allows me to learn more about myself and transform into someone who is more confident, and more accepting of herself.

If you are interested in starting your self-developing journey or you already love self-help books, check out these 9 books that have changed my life. Click the links to purchase a copy for yourself and let me know how you find it!

The Year Of Living Danishly

“When she was suddenly given the opportunity of a new life in rural Jutland, journalist and archetypal Londoner Helen Russell discovered a startling statistic: the happiest place on earth isn”t Disneyland, but Denmark, a land often thought of by foreigners as consisting entirely of long dark winters, cured herring, Lego and pastries. What is the secret to their success? Are happy Danes born, or made? Helen decides there is only one way to find out: she will give herself a year, trying to uncover the formula for Danish happiness. From childcare, education, food and interior design (not to mention ”hygge”) to SAD, taxes, sexism and an unfortunate predilection for burning witches, The Year of Living Danishly is a funny, poignant record of a journey that shows us where the Danes get it right, where they get it wrong, and how we might just benefit from living a little more Danishly ourselves.” – Indigo
